An Attack Against Religious Freedom by the Courts of Our Land?

An appellate court recently ruled against religious liberty against a Colorado baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple. He was willing to make anything for him but a wedding cake. He was relying on his constitutionally protected religious right to follow his Judeo-Christian values without interference from the government. Instead of protecting his constitutionally protected religious right protected under the first amendment, the Colorado Court of Appeals violated his religious rights by ruling against him in using a Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act; the courts claiming that he violated the discrimination act in refusing to bake the gay couple’s wedding cake. Such an act can lead to further discrimination against other gay couples seeking services to their same-sex marriage ceremonies.

The Colorado baker insisted that he did not discriminate by offering other items he had to sell. Because of religious conviction, he refused to participate in an unholy union between couples by selling a wedding cake for their ceremony. The baker argued that his opposition to same-sex marriage as something against his faith was not an act against their individual sexual orientation, but an act against same-sex marriage on grounds of religious conviction.

Colorado law prohibits places of public accommodation from refusing to serve people based on sexual orientation. By refusing to bake a wedding cake for the same-sex marriage ceremony, Colorado found the Colorado baker in violation of the law. The appellate court finds that same-sex marriage is closely related to sexual orientation and thus by violating one, is violating the other. By offering anything to sell but the wedding cake, the Colorado baker argued he is innocent from any discrimination based on sexual orientation. Furthermore, he believed that he was protected under the first amendment to follow his religious conviction defined by Judeo-Christian values.  

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed and enacted into law to protect people from discrimination regarding race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. In addition to that, the state of Colorado in 2014 passed a marriage equality act which ensures by state law the right for gay marriage. To ensure protection for gay couples from discrimination, the first amendment protection that people of faith enjoyed for many years are now threatened and their Constitutional rights threatened. The recent finding in Colorado’s court of appeal seems to protect same-sex marriage rights from being discriminated, but failing to protect “people’s of faith” Constitutional rights in allowing them to follow their religious convictions. By ruling against the Colorado baker, the courts are discriminating against fundamental freedoms protected under the first amendment and forcing individuals to adopt the government’s view; thus, the state forcing itself against protection of religious rights which in turn, is against Separation of Church and State.

The recent ruling of the Colorado appellate court is a statement that they recognize “man’s law trumps God’s law” which is in direct violation of the first amendment of the Constitution of the United States and established laws of certain churches such as The Code of Canon Law of the Catholic Church; which is recognized in the United States legal system as a legal document of authority for the peoples of the Catholic faith.  In the Code of Canon Law: Can. 22 “Civil laws to which the law of the Church yields are to be observed in canon law with the same effects, insofar as they are not contrary to divine law and unless canon law provides otherwise.” According to Colorado appellate court, man’s law (natural law) trumps Divine law; religious convictions dictated by ones’ religious faith, as it trumps Constitutional law set forth by the Congress of the United States.

We hope and pray that this unlawful discriminatory case against religious freedom is taken up by a higher court and overturned. But whether this case is taken up or not by a higher court, this issue will have to be taken up and defined by the Supreme Court under the banner of religious freedom. Not only the Colorado baker’s Constitutional freedom were discriminated against, but others, as they are targeted by gay couples using same-sex ceremonies to silence and legally nullify the opposition. Other parts of the country, people who refused to photograph, bake cakes, arrange and sell flowers, and provide other services towards servicing same-sex marriage ceremonies, are being discriminated against. The higher courts will have to face this discrimination against religious freedoms that are currently protected under the first amendment.  The courts will have to face ruling to uphold the first amendment guaranteed by the Constitution, or rule against Constitutional freedom by ruling in favor of natural law “trumping” divine law; man’s law (civil law) legally superior to God’s law.

If the Supreme Court rule in favor of man’s law being superior to divine law, the Constitutionally protected first amendment will be nullified and almost anything goes in regulating action or speech regarding the protection of same-sex relationships, same-sex marriages, and other avenues relating to homosexuality while anything defined as divine law would not be legally recognized.

God have mercy on this country; pray for America. Pray for conversions.

The Catholic Church, the true bible Church.     Who made the bible?   Over the course of many centuries, the Holy Spirit employed faithful yet fallible men in the writing of the books and epistles that would someday become the bible. These works, along with others later to be deemed uninspired, became generally accepted as sacred scripture. But there would be no consensus. Then, four centuries after the time of Christ, other faithful yet fallible men would be used to discern which of these works would ultimately be worthy of inclusion in a closed canon of Scripture. Following a decree by Pope Damasus in A.D. 382, the final form of the Christian bible was established. This collection of 73 books was confirmed at the Council of Rome and later at two African councils. These official gatherings were convened in cooperation with and under the authority of the Bishop of Rome – Pope Damasus – with Saint Augustine presiding as Bishop of both African councils. Because of his great knowledge and piety, Augustine, a once-rebellious convert to the Catholic Church, is regarded as one of the great champions of the Christian faith. In fact, Martin Luther (Lutheranism) was an Augustine monk and John Calvin (Presbyterianism) quoted Augustine more than any other theologian. Remarkably, both were prominent figures in the sixteenth century Protestant rebellion against Augustine’s beloved Church. No institution short of the Church founded by Christ Himself could ever possess the authority to discern the final form of God’s written Word. So what did Augustine’s church look like at the time of the bible’s birth? Catholic. Christians of the pre-bible era already understood that the true Church must possess essential characteristics; as the following writings will show:

BISHOPS, DEACONS AND PRIESTS

“You must follow the bishop as Jesus Christ follows the Father, and the priests as you would the Apostles. Reverance the deacons as you would the command of God. Let no one do anything of concern to the Church without the Bishop.” (Ignatius of Antioch; Letter to the Smyrnaeans; 8:1-2; 107 A.D.)

“If Christ Jesus is himself the high priest of God the Father; and if he offered himself as a sacrifice to the Father; and if he commanded that this be done in commemoration of himself, then certainly the priest, who imitates that which Christ did, truly functions in place of Christ.” (Cyprian of Carthage; Letters 63:14; 253 A.D.)

THE REAL PRESENCE OF JESUS CHRIST   “We call this food Eucharist; and no one else is permitted to partake of it, except one who believes our teaching to be true and who has been washed in the washing which is for the remission of sins and for regeneration (baptism), and is thereby living as Christ has enjoined in a state of grace. For not as common bread nor common drink do we receive these; the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set down by Him, and by the change of which our blood and flesh is nurtured, is both the flesh and the blood of that incarnated Jesus.” (Justin Martyr; First Apology 66; 151 A.D.)

HOLY MASS

“And on the day called Sunday, all gather together to one place and the memoirs of the apostles or the writings of the prophets are read. Then when the reader has ceased, the president (priest) verbally instructs and exhorts to the imitation of these good things. Then we all rise together and pray and when our prayer is ended, bread and wine and water are brought and the priest offers prayers and thanksgivings and the people assent, saying Amen; and there is a distribution to each and to those who are absent, a portion is sent by the deacons. And they who are well to do, and willing, give what each thinks fit; and what is collected is deposited with the priest, who comforts the orphans and widows and those who are in want. REGENERATIVE BAPTISM

“The Church received from the Apostles the tradition of giving baptism even to infants. For the Apostles, to whom were committed the secrets of divine mysteries, knew that there is in everyone the innate stains of sin, which must be washed away through water and the Spirit” (Origen; Commentaries on Romans 5:9; 244 A.D.)

The Mass

For Catholics, nothing is more important than the Mass. It is the heart and soul of our worship of God. It is the celebration that gives us the strength we need to live a Christian life. Because of its importance, the Church places a serious obligation on all its members to take part in the Mass each Sunday and holy day.

Thus each Sunday the Christian community comes together to give joint worship to the Father and our Lord, Jesus Christ. Of all things Christians do, nothing is more important than celebrating Mass together. In your call to ministry, you will assist at other services, but nothing is as important as your services at Mass as one of the leaders of the community.

The Mass is a reenactment of the Last Supper when Jesus instituted the Eucharist and told his followers, “Do this in memory of me.” Although the Mass is a mystery, we accept the fact that bread and wine become the body and blood of Jesus because Jesus told us that this is so. Some descriptions will help us to understand it better.

First and foremost, the Mass is a sacrifice. The idea of sacrifice to God is at the very heart of religion. The bible tells us how Abel and Cain, the sons of Adam, offered sacrifice to God. Abraham, whom the liturgy calls “our father in faith,” was prepared to offer to God his only son, Isaac. The Old Testament Jews through their priests sacrificed lambs and goats to God. Jesus offered his Father a sacrifice: himself. Jesus promised us that “when we eat this bread and drink this cup” he would continue his great sacrifice until he comes again.

The Mass is a memorial. It is an event that helps people to remember. The most important event, the one remembered at every Mass, is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We also remember through the readings other great deeds God has done for his people.

The Mass is also a sacred meal called the Eucharist (from the Greekeucharista, meaning “thanksgiving”). In the Mass we give thanks for all that God has done for us, and we all eat the same food — “the bread of life and the cup of eternal salvation.” Jesus has told us that this bread and wine are his body and blood (read John 6: 53-55). So, in this sacred meal, we Catholics believe that Jesus “life, death, and resurrection are continued for all of us through our celebration of his holy meal, begun at the Last Supper.

The way Mass is celebrated has developed over almost two thousand years. The early Christians called it “the Breaking of the Bread.” Despite its development, two elements have always been the same: listening meal. Today we refer to those elements as the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Following is the basic outline of the Mass, which you should learn well.

Thoughts about the Holy Father’s call for a two-state system in Israel

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” (Matthew 5:9)

The Holy Father, who asked for a two-state system in Israel, searching for ways to find peace. With God’s grace it may work, but with man’s lack of cooperation, will never happen. The Church, even when speaking out for peace, suggesting a political move, calling for cooperation of man, the Church is above politics and not a slave to any man, man’s ideology, or government. It only wills the will of God. 
   

When the Holy Father proposed the idea of a two-party system in Israel, he was not pandering to any political or national side; he was not putting any person or people above one another, demanding or requiring, but searching for a way to find peace. With the Holy Spirit, wars can be averted, evil overcome, hopeless situations transformed into fruitful results. With tactics of mankind, ideologies of humanity, lack of faith and prudence of the world, peace can only be achieved through likely means. The world forgets one thing, as it turns away from God on a seemingly daily basis, that “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26): something which mankind needs to learn.

Regarding mankind’s logic and ways of the world, Mother Teresa would not have fed the world or comfort global suffering. When she was in Lebanon during its civil war in the early 1980’s, and the fighting was fierce, she was told of handicapped children who were trapped between the lines. She confidently told the United Nation representatives who were escorting her and her sisters into the area that on a certain liturgical day on the Church’s calendar soon to happen, the fighting will cease for 24 hours. They told her that peace was far from being reached and both sides were committed to fighting. On the liturgical day prophesied by Mother Teresa fighting stopped due to a cease fire, allowing Mother Teresa and her entourage to enter the war stricken area, collect all the children, then exited the area to safety. The United Nation representatives were astonished at her prophesy.

Regarding the Holy Father, he is operating on a logic far superior to man’s logic, for he is guided by the Holy Spirit. On behalf of the Church and her faithful, and to world peace and salvation, he is committed to God’s will over man’s will. So if he is suggesting something radical, perhaps something that seems impossible, I am more likely to support him than any plan or strategy from any government, or opinion from any people of any given society. Before being patriotic to my country, or any other country, I am orthodox to the Seat of Peter first and foremost. All worldly governments, including my own, fall into their proper place after my allegiance to the Holy Father in Rome. God comes before man, as I have taught my grand kids, “God before all things, even themselves.” 

A Brief Look At The Democrat Ideology

The term Yellow Dog Democrats is generally applied to refer to any Democrat who will vote a straight party ticket under any circumstances.

The phrase "Yellow Dog Democrat" is thought to have achieved popularity during the 1928 presidential race between Democratic candidate Al Smith and Republican candidate Herbert Hoover, when Senator J. Thomas Heflin (D-Alabama) crossed party lines and formally supported Hoover. Many Southern voters disliked several items on Smith's platform but still voted for him.

Yellow Dog Democrats was a political term applied to voters in the Southern United States who voted solely for candidates who represented the Democratic Party. The term originated in the late 19th century. These are my basic overall thoughts concerning the Democrat political party. Even though I focused on one party, it is not a partisan look at one party, only to hold to a high standard the opposing Republican Party with admiration. I can, and have, criticized bitterly the Republican political party for its sins, its inaction in governing, and its political agendas that serve the needs of the political party while ignoring the true needs of the people. The reason why I have not criticized the Republican Party in these thoughts is that, I am not at present, writing about the Republican Party. But if I was to, they would not be seen in any better light. But for now, I am focused on the Democrat political party, which is a political party leading our nation into serious grave error with the help and cooperation of the present day Republican Party. To coin the phrase I heard many years ago from someone in my past, "Today's Republicans are yesteryear's Democrats". 

The Democrat party is responsible for undermining our Christian culture with anti-Christian values counter to faith. They are using the power of "the State" to enforce their values upon the masses. Ever since 1960, the Democrat party is in decline. At present time, the party has historic decline as Americans are finding their political home elsewhere. Unlike its history, the Democrat party turned into a tyrant party who impose their beliefs upon the public. They are a political party that has a trail of corruption and scandal unlike any other political party, and are collapsing into insignificance as time continues. More and more people are being frustrated with the Democrats, feel their values are not being represented, and that Christian culture is being attacked. As Democrats represent their party, not the people, not their voters, they impose their own political agenda upon the nation against the will of the people. At present they are being seen as going against the Constitution, against laws that favor other interests, and bypass Congress in important matters relating to Congressional support. Slowly over the years, but what is being more apparent, is that the Democrat party are undermining moral/Christian values, political laws, and is the political force behind dividing America; turning America against herself, and pushing agenda's not healthy for the country's future; at present, all when the world is burning because of refusing to offer leadership, support and aid, and imposing troublesome values that counter regional and international traditions. By the very nature of the ugly face of liberalism people are being deceived and forced into transforming themselves towards “the will of the government” rather than the government fulfilling “the will of the people”.

The Democrats are a political party of abortion, homosexuality, perversion, preserving poverty through economic class warfare and its miseries, same-sex marriage, anti-Christian values that promote division, hardness of heart, and death (the culture of death). Lies and scandal is the fruit of their political ambitions as they seek and labor to support their re-election over the overall needs of the American people by substituting the moral good of this nation for the political good.  

For those who claim to be Democrat because they are supporting a political party that support in helping the needy and underprivileged, is either living in the past or following a political party that is no longer exist; having abandoned these values long ago, or they are partisan, and by such, fooling themselves by living a lie. 

"Therefore, I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit." (Matthew 21:43) The graces in which the Democrat party may have achieved in the past through charity and concern, for the good of the nation, is morally bankrupting our nation. As a political party, they redefined "the good of the nation" by abandoning God and separating themselves from this nation'sChristian roots that gave the existence of our country meaning, thus by reducing God to good politics. Graces coming from God built this nation and gave our nation existence meaning. It gave our county leadership, the wisdom of courage to defend the dignity of human life, and by abandoning these graces, "seeking the political good", the Democrat party, while leading people away from God; a mass exodus away from God to suit individual political agendas, are currently abandoning the very reason of our existence as a country, as a people, ordained by God.  

Decades ago before 1960, the Democrat party was a traditional pragmatic political party, but afterwards, slowly turned into an ideological party which is the first stage of eroding traditional/religious avenues which define American values; what it was to be, to be an American in support of his/her country; God and country. The dawning of a new face which defined the Democrat Party, and continues until present time, is the face of political ideology which set the agenda of the day, and manipulates voter philosophy. Behind the ideology mask that hides the real intentions of the political party, victimhood replaced personal responsibility of the individual. Ronald Reagan became Republican in 1962, and when asked why he switched political parties, he replied "I didn't leave the Democratic Party. The party left me". The transformation of the party from a pragmatic point of view towards an ideological one led the party to betray its political values and traditions; leading the party into a more intensified partisanship which foster division and discord while party loyalty decline and continues to decline to the present day. The result of this decline is the formation of an anti-Christian party imposing its anti-Christian views on the public and the legal system which is currently tearing this country apart by undermining Christian values that built this nation.

Turning “people against people” by undermining moral values, the Democrat Party has relied on “useful idiots” (a political term attributed to Vladimir Lenin. The term has not been found in any of his writings) to promote an ideological value system; divorcing themselves from a pragmatic value system that once defined the political party.

Using political means behind liberalism to promote an ideological value system, people’s freedom have been seriously compromised by the legal system to impose a liberal morality over traditional values. Not only are the liberal ideology imposed on the public at the legislative level, but also the judicial level. By winning the minds of people, they are implementing “the new morality” at the family (or societal) level. The term "The New Morality" designates a newly imposed moral system counter to Christian values elevating man to a new moral conscience which exclude God and by making mankind answerable to himself; eliminating any need for Christian standard and tradition.  

According to David R. Carlin who served 12 years in the Rhode Island Senate as a Democratic majority leader, rhetoric is being heard creating an illusion by the secularist politicians that they are against abortions except under certain circumstances, that they would like to lower the abortion rate in the United States, that their faith in God is important to them, that they represent strong families and family values, etc. The rhetoric that they speak purposely creates an illusion that they are conservative, moderately conservative, or morally conservative while they participate in creating and promoting a liberal agenda with secularist consequences. Because of their secularist and anti-religion agenda, Christians of Protestant and Catholic alike, are abandoning the party at a steady rate. Eventually the party will be a party consisting of members that are secularist and liberal Christians which abandoned their faith for political agendas; political agenda over orthodox values. More and more Christians who proudly remained with the Democrat party for years, who worked and labored hard for the advancement of the political party, and who belonged to proud Democrat families, are leaving the party because the party is turning against their religion, their religious values, and their individual rights in being Christian. As long as secularist ideologues continue to define the Democrat Party agendas and outlook on the issues, the party will continue to “slide downhill” into insignificance and risk potential harm to the United States.  

What is hurting the Democrat Party, but also other political parties and the people of the United States in general, are the political parties and people supporting liberal principles that are against orthodox Christianity, against traditional values, a redefining of American values. Liberal Christianity must feed off of orthodox Christianity; which is traditional and stable. Liberalism in its very nature is unstable; identified as a struggling identity that is championing for a better tomorrow, challenging values which are not compatible for a productive and better future, combating a past of failures and mistakes. In reality, liberalism is ever-changing with no long-standing stable characteristics which provide any stability. It must be parasitic in nature to an orthodox host of values that are stable, have given definition and meaning to the emergence of our country and her long-standing values, and is the rock of stability in our nation’s history of hard and difficult times. Without such a host of traditional and orthodox values, liberalism cannot stand and succeed. Without a common enemy in which to feed upon, it will render itself insignificant by failing to have anything to champion over, by not having a meaningful struggle which gives the ideology significance, the lack of stability it can provide in a movement that can only offer modernization and continual change without any steady and non-changing foundation in which to give it proper definition and meaning.       

According to the apparition of Fatima in Portugal in 1917, Our Lady of Fatima told the seers that the world is going astray from God, and if the world does not return back to God, errors of Russia will spread throughout the world. I believe that the errors are not only political, but also moral in nature. Due to morally bankrupting societies in the world, forms of ideologies emerge that reflect an eroding characteristic against standard traditional morality. Twentieth century liberalism is rooted in the errors of Communism in which Our Lady of Fatima prophesied in 1917.

Liberalism is a close parallel; I would call it a close relative by its core nature, which it shares with communism. Like communism, liberalism in the truest sense, has no God to guide her values by, and thus not having a God, it has no soul. Any form of government that takes place of God, creating an atheistic form of state worship, where the state becomes a god, has no soul regarding their ideology. 

Liberalism, like communism, relies on propagating propaganda to promote its Godless ideologies which serve to give meaning to its existence. Liberalism cannot rely on morally sound truth-based values to advance its cause, justify its existence, give meaning to its struggles, survive opposing criticism or compete against truth-based competition; it must rely on deceit and falsehood which often is linked with history of scandals while discrediting any opposition. Liberalism is a struggle to liberate itself from God, as it liberate itself from past moral norms. Communism is an atheistic state with atheistic ideologies made up with atheistic philosophy that guide her. Communism parallels liberalism in a sense that, it defines what is acceptable by "the State" and reject what is deemed not acceptable. Liberalism, as communism, by nature is hostile to opposing objection as it redefines what is acceptable and what will be rejected. Liberalism and communism both propagate propaganda that it represent the common interest of the populace (the population), yet by doing so, a small elite dictate its belief over the masses without process of due democracy; without representation of the people.  

Liberalism must have an enemy to survive. It cannot stand on its own and justify and give meaningful productive rise to its own values and creeds. It must feed from a host of opposing viewpoints, villainize  or silence its opposition, and scapegoat others into blame. Liberalism and its ideologies must have a struggle to give itself meaning or cause. There must be a liberating factor to justify its existence, a struggle to overcome. Without the struggle aspect, what is there to be liberated from in the context of liberal ideologies? When the struggles are outdated due to technological advancement or winning of minds on certain issues, it must evolve into another struggle, often reinventing a struggle to find meaning. Without the struggling aspect, liberalism has no meaning and no reason to exist. Yet, they have to promise deliverance, promise a better future, and deceive the populace into believing the struggle is worth the sacrifice and deliverance attainable. But in reality, quite the opposite is true, the sacrifice is unbearable and deliverance unattainable. 

The antithesis to freedom and democracy, the will of the people and traditional-orthodoxal values, is liberalism in its truest sense. Liberal ideological values and the values of Christianity prove restrictive and incompatible toward each other. Liberalism, as in communism, are both cut from the same cloth in the sense that being incompatible with Christianity, is in direct conflict with true sense of charity (love of neighbor), and if given the chance, will oppose the Church and her teachings to the point of intolerance leading to persecution. By its very parasitic nature, it must feed from a host, an enemy that it opposes giving rise to their ideological meaning. As scandal and deceit plagued the Democrat party and its politics as it moved away from a pragmatic form of values, adopting an ideological value base, scandals and deceit became a norm in governing; since President Clinton's presidential tenure, scandals and deceit increased among its liberal members along with strategies in dealing with this evil. At present, looking at any presidential tenure and its administration, President Obama and his administration is by far, more scandalous and deceitful, resulting in scapegoating innocent citizens, imposing restrictions on Freedom of Religion clause in the American Constitution, forcing people of religion to violate their religious conscience, violating and threatening individual constitutionally protected freedoms and liberties, and continually violating Constitutional Congressional laws. President Obama and his administration are the most liberal governing force in American history with its members, including President Obama himself, having been involved or being presently involved in radical revolutionary beginnings tied directly to Marxism, atheistic values, promotion of redefining American values, dismantling traditional America and eventually the world in replacing it with Marxism, promotion of anti-Christian values and anti-Christian morality as a norm, and sharing an interest in advancing a systematic elimination of human beings they see as being an opposition to their liberal utopias and goals. The fruit of liberalism has been scandal and deceit. Liberalism in its truest form has proven to offer poisonous fruit with toxic effects. As far as presidential tenures show, President Bill Clinton and President Obama, the most liberal Presidents in American history, have been directly involved with the greatest amount of scandals while using deceit to deflect blame and accountability.

Boko Haram, an African terror group aligned with ISIS and Al Qaeda, spreading fear and terror against Christians and Jews, seeking to convert the world to a radicalized form of Islam under the penalty of death, has been wreaking havoc for a long time to present. Nigeria requested help from the United States for help to control Boko Haram but was refused by the Obama administration. According to Bishop Emmanuel Badejo of Oyo in Nigeria, "The United States actually said it would help Nigeria with Boko Haram only if we modify our laws concerning homosexuality, family planning and birth control."
